Warren Sellers
Captain Warren Sellers is a pioneer of sportfishing in Costa Rica. He has been fishing out of these waters for over 20 years. Warren believes in running a center console (Cha-Tah) so that he can interact personally with his clients instead of having a mate communicate between captain and client. All tackle on board is first class with the majority of the rods and lures custom made by Warren to best fit the needs of fishing out of Tamarindo.

Fishing in Tamarindo
Costa Rica,(which means rich coast), has been known for many years to be a sportfishing paradise. With its many beaches and temperate climate it offers excellent fishing throughout the year. Over 68 world records have been caught in the waters of Costa Rica. Tamarindo Bay is located at the tip of the Papagayo Gulf on the north-west Pacific coast. At only a ten minute run time, you'll be out fishing for such fish as snapper, roosterfish, grouper, amberjack, etc. The blue water trolling for sailfish, marlin and tuna begins at the 100 fathom curve, which is about a 20 minute run. Papagayo Gulf is a breeding ground for yellow fin- and big eye- tuna. When the tuna is most dominant, the blue and black marlin are ever present, as their main diet is tuna. Sailfish abound during their migration and spawning season.

Prices and When to Fish
In mid April the migration of sailfish and marlin starts, from then until August is the prime time for fishing. September through November is our green season meaning it rains often, but fishing is good. Rain is usually not a problem as the air temperature stays warm. December through April is our dry season and can be very windy. For these months we have a package out of Garza, a fishing spot south of Tamarindo.

Half day charters, which are 5 hours, consist of inshore fishing. You'll fish for amberjack, snapper, wahoo, mackeral and more. The price is $ 375.

Full day charters, 9 hours, are for offshore fishing such as tuna, sailfish and marlin. On the way back in you'll pass by the reef for some inshore fishing. The price is $ 495.

Food and beverages on board are included, as well as all tackle and bait. Maximum group size is three people.

Cha-Tah is a 27 ft. North American deep vee center console with a walk around cuddy with head. It has a large tee top and a bimini for extra shade, outriggers, fighting chair, and is powered by twin Mariner 150 H.P. counter rotating outboards. It comes equipped with first class fishing tackle such as Fin Nor and Penn International, and state of the art fly-fishing equipment. V.H.F. and C.B. radio's are present on board as well as G.P.S., depth finders, and complete safety equipment.

Beautiful Costa Rica

Tamarindo Beach
is located at the northern tip of Costa Rica, on the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica, due to its easy accessibility, beautiful white-sand beach and its proximity to national parks. It has a big variety of accommodations and restaurants. Tamarindo can be reached from San Jose, Costa Rica's capital, either by air, a 45 minute flight, or by land which is around a four hour trip.
